More than 60 speakers in an all-star lineup will be presenting at this year’s Northwest Arkansas Technology Summit hosted by the Greater Bentonville Area Chamber of Commerce and the NWA Technology Council.
In its 5th year, the Northwest Arkansas Technology Summit has grown from 400 to over 2,500 attendees. This year the Summit will expand to host two days of events including the Northwest Arkansas Technology Summit, the Women in Technology Conference, and new for 2018 a MedTech Healthcare Conference. All events will take place at the John Q. Hammons Convention Center in Rogers, Arkansas.
The Northwest Arkansas Technology Summit, sponsored by JB Hunt and AT&T, will be held on October 23, 2018. Over sixty speakers will present at the Northwest Arkansas Technology Summit including leaders from Walmart, Tyson, JB Hunt, AT&T, Intel, Salesforce, Microsoft, IBM, Teradata, Cox Communications and several others. Keynote speakers include Craig Harper, Executive Vice President & COO JB Hunt; Kim Keating, Vice President of Data Science and Machine Learning AT&T; Rachel Mushahwar, General Manager Global Sales Intel; Yazdi Bagli, SVP Global Business Services and Emerging Technology Walmart; and Martin Hitch, Chief Business Officer Bossa Nova Robotics.
The 2nd annual Women in Technology Conference, sponsored by Walmart Spark Women and Cox Communications, will be held on October 22, 2018. The Women in Technology Conference features a variety of dynamic speakers who will engage in meaningful discussion on thought leadership, innovation, opportunities and challenges surrounding women in today’s technology environment. Keynote speakers include Dawn Drewry, Vice President, IT Centers of Expertise at Tysons Foods; Stephanie Lampkin, CEO of Blendoor, a tech app that removes gender bias for job seekers; and Kim Keever, Chief Information Security Officer for Cox Communications. Breakout sessions feature speakers from Wells Fargo, Intel, RevUnit, JB Hunt, Walmart, Milestone Leadership and several others.
The MedTech Healthcare Conference is new to the Summit and sponsored by Arkansas Children’s Hospital will be held on October 22, 2018. Tony Buettner will be a keynote speaker and will be discussing Blue Zones and Northwest Arkansas as a targeted area. Residents of Blue Zones live in very different parts of the world, yet have nine commonalities that lead to longer, healthier, happier lives. Blue Zones interface in the six sectors of communities that include policy, worksites, restaurants, grocery stores, schools, and individual engagement. Dr. Bradley Schaefer will also be a keynote speaker. He is the Professor of Genetics and Pediatrics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Schaefer is the Founding Director of the Division of Medical Genetics and the Chief of the Section of Genetics and Metabolism in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS).
